Diu- Queries on Hotel & Abt Getting from Diu To Ahmedabad

Hey friends!

I am new to this forum. Was looking thru sites for info on diu and found this site to be really useful

I have gone thru a few threads on diu and already got most of the info i needed. But i have the following questions which were either not answered or have replies which are 3 yrs old or so.

1. TRAVEL: I would be travelling to Diu from Ahmedabad on 9th Aug'07. Plan to stay there till 11th. But i have to get back to Ahmd latest by 4.30pm on 12th, as i have a train to catch at 5.30pm on 12th. So, i need authentic info on what are the ways to get back to Ahmd. I would prefer to start travelling only on 12th morning...is that feasible???...as in, are there early morning buses from diu for Ahmd??...and are the diu travel agents trackable on the net or by phone?

I looked up the Veraval-Ahmedabad Intercity Express as a good option to come back, but i CANNOT figure out how to book the tickets...also, does it have only 2nd seating class????

2. ACCOMODATION: I plan to spend 2 days in diu...and my budget would be around abt 500 to 800 max. But i have been told to be choosy abt choosing a hotel in diu since its a haven for boozers apparently! ...I want a hotel on the beach.

3. SWIMMING: Is it possible for women to swim "carefree" without catching oglers' attention??

Waiting to hear back

In Diu Town I reccommend you " Hotel Samrat" near the vegetable market in the centre of the town, probably the best value on town. The best beach is Nagoa few kilometres away from the city a really nice beach where you can swim almost alone.. You can also stay there in Nagoa beach, the owner of The Resort Hoka is a member of indiamike if I remember well.

Thanks Jorge!

I was hoping to stay on the beach if it were possible...was told of these 4 options- Magico Do Mar, Resort Hoka, Radhika Resort, Sea Village Resort. Do you know how these four compare in terms of room ambience and the tariffs?

Cheers!

I'm sorry cannot advice you. Have seen the hotels only from outside and I think Radhika was the most luxurious and not in the budget option (500-800 Rs).
