Diu in July?

Hy,
I`m going to travel to India in July, after passing a hard time of exams I really would like to relax on a beach for some days.
Monsun makes this a bit complicated.
One guy told me that even swimming is possible during Monsun in Diu, I really wonder if this is true. Somebody here, who was in Diu in July? Or someone here who can recommend me another beach?

hi,

even I am plannning a trip to Diu in July this year with my wife. so, I dont have first hand information but by the research that I have done, it seems that the beaces in Diu are quite calm and you can go on a swim there. though Diu gets its maximum share of rainfall in July but that is about 21 cms. Remember its monsoon and in some beaches of India that means riptides..

so i guess surfing is out of the question? is there ever a break on the shoal at the river mouth, behind the little fortified island? i wouldn't hold my breath to get rescued though, i've seen the locals swim!
