| Clothing? I am going to be doing some voluntary work, probably in an office in Rajkot or Ahmedvad with some work in more remoter villages too. I am of Gujarati origin but was born and raised in England. I am in my mid twenties. What on earth should I wear in the office and in the villages? I could just about manage a sari I guess (I only wear them for weddings and special occassions in England!) but can I get by with a salwar kameez? If so, more detailed information on the style etc would be appreciated! Thanks |

| You will be fine with a salwar kameez. Forego the trendy ones for something more traditional, if you want to err on the side of caution. |

| Hey 'salwar kameez' is fine for all places and very comfortable. Buy some cool cotton from Amdavad's (something that sounds like) Dhalgerwad (forgot the actual name...) If you want minimal shopping then buy 2 white cotton salwars and you can buy various kameezes. The ensemble can be topped with a white cotton 'duppatta'. You can get loads of 'salwar kameez' there. Don't get a sunstroke, keep urself cool with lots of water and butter milk.
