Car carrying ferry , GULF OF KHAMBHAT

Dear all,
I am planing to go to Palitana ,Gujarat by Car by NH-8.
Is there a way of crossing the gulf of Khambhat by Car carrying ferry from somewhere close to Surat- Bharuch to Bhavnagar, so as to cut driving time.

As far as I'm aware, there is no ferry of any kind, though I researched this about 5 years ago.

The overnight train from Mumbai to Bhavnagar calls at Sihor Jn, close to Palitana, the train has great timings.

pas2005 yes however good the road on nh8 is driving to bhavnagar and likes is a pain looking @ the map one realises the waste of approximate 500km s drive !!!
I have been on a look out for such a thing scince past few years but of no avail !!

Unless u really need the car to use @ bhavnagar train is a better option as adviced by steven_ber

It seems there is no such ferry . I have also googled & tried to find out from aquaintances near Bharuch.
Wikimapia shows a proposed bridge across the gulf.
I hope it gets built soon.
I need to drive as I am planning to go to palitana, girnar, junagadh, jamnagar , etc. So train is not a option.
