Bhuj hotel???

We're arriving in Bhuj in mid-June and would like to find a nice place to stay for a few days before we head down to Mandvi for a couple of months. We'll have travelled non-stop for about 24 hours when we arrive, with a five-year-old...any suggestions? Thanks.

Last time we were in Bhuj we stayed at the Gangaram Hotel near the Aina Mahal in the old city.

They have some air-con rooms, which you will definitely need as Bhuj is going to be very hot in mid June.

The price, I think, would be around 600-700 rupees, but after such a long journey you might like to go more upmarket and book into somewhere like the Lake View Hotel beside Hamirsar Lake, which has A/C rooms and a swimming pool.

Thanks once again. Your help in preparing this journey has been invaluable. We have begun a nice correspondance with Mr Vinod as well, who is looking for a house for us to rent in Mandvi - though it might be worth our while to stay with him, given that his seven-year-old daughters would make the adjustment for our five-year-old son far easier! He sounds like a lovely man....and tells us that Mandvi is much changed???? I wonder how & why? Repopulation after the Earthquake?
