Beaches in Gujarat

Im off to Bhuj in a week or two . I thought i saw that there is train line going north west from Bhuj to a small coastal town , probably the last town on the line - this town would be up the coast towards the pakistan boarder past Mandvi .

can anyone help / advise give me any inof if this is a good place to visit - it seems out of the way and might be interesting ?

thanks

Hi,

Yes. Mandvi is a beautiful place with wonderful beach and also famous for it's small boat building units... as soon as you enter Mandvi you cant miss the boats being built locally on platforms...

Mandvi Beach

One of the finest beaches in Gujarat is at Mandvi, a historic port town of the Kutch.

One site is the best site to give u Mandvi Beach's information...

beaches

Hye thanks for the info you posted - i went to Mandvi when i was in Gujarat - it was very nice . Long beach with those big wind turbines going off in the distance . Lots of Indian pople on holiday - you actaully had to pay to drive your car up to the beach ( not very much money though) . Mndvi town was nice , small intersting market - i went on a friday and all the mosques were busy . I even found an airconditioned restaurnat to have a great banana lassi .

So go to Mandvi...

I was looking for beach in Guj probably close to Ahm or Surat.

We were planning for a 1 night trip. It would be a family outing. We are going to be totally 30 of us. I was looking at a beach which is clean and with good accommodation and quite a few young kids would be present (and they from abroad). So you get the picture. This would be done in Dec'08 so looking around early

thanks
