Anyone stayed at Hotel Alka in Ahmedabad?
Has anyone stayed at Hotel Alka in Ahmedabad? I'll be travelling through Ahmedabad in June on my way to Diu and will be staying over one night in the city - is Hotel Alka good value for money?

Is it in the Old City? Can you give something like an address? I'll go check it out. And turn on your Private messages...

I stayed at Hotel Alka in January. Some rooms look OK. Some rooms (like the one where I stayed) face the road and also a garbage dump site on the other side of said road. I spent only one night there.
I found Hotel Kamran Palace (nearby, close to Relief Cinema) much better in each and every respect. My (AC) room was at the back and consequently quiet. No noise from the very noisy street. But beware: Some (non AC) rooms at Kamran Palace get filled with smoke, which comes from some chimney. |

I would rather avoid staying in Relief Road, Gandhi Road hotels. Those always look fishy to me. There are many better options out there between Rs. 1,000/= to 1,500/=. |

I won't be staying over night in Ahmedabad after all, only spending a few hours between trains, but as I might be going through Ahmedabad again in the future, I will certainly keep this in mind, about staying on Relief Road. Thank you!

You may try to get a room at hotel volga in the relief road area. It is right next to house of MG and the amazing restaurant Agashye.
Has good reviews and is reasonable |
