Anand-Please help

I am due to travel to Anand soon, and have been look hard for a decent hotel. I have been unsuccesful. I would rather not travel from Baroda but will if that is the best way to go about it. How long is the drive and can i commute?
My husband is not happy that Gujarat is a dry state and wants to know if he can get a beer... what do i say????
Please help!!!

Baroda to Anand is about an hour long drive.
Yes Gujarat is a dry state but.......

Please help!!!

Make sure you apply for liquor permit when you apply for your VISA. Good beer is available but only for tourist, and only with a liquor permit.

We've had 2 other people asking about hotels in Annand and how to get there from Ahmedabad airport, I think both members returned with some useful info, do a search for those threads.
