Ahmedabad-Baroda?

2 of us will be travelling from London to Ahmedabad. We do not want to stay in Ahmedabad at all, but want to travel from Ahmedabad airport straight to Baroda. Will taxi be better and How do i book it and appx cost.
I dont think there is direct flight from London to Baroda otherwise we would do that.

Hey bips, the best and cheap way is for you to go in a luxury bus to Baroda. They run daily and sits are very comfortable. You can rent a taxi but it will be little expensive than the luxury bus. Other options is to go in a train.

I am not sure of the cost of luxury bus and taxi. But, I rented a jeep for a day from Baroda to Nadiad and I paid 700 rupees (3 years back). Let me know if you have any questions about Baroda.

Hi Bips,

From Ahmedabad, Baroda is only 120 kms away.

You have two options - either take a bus or take a cab.

Bus fares shall be in the range of max Rs. 200 per person. Taxi fares vary - the smaller cabs ( Indica cars ) charge from Rs. 4.50 per KM to 6.50 per KM. Minimum distance you have to travel is around 250 kms ( which shall anyways fit into your distance chart ).

You can get a taxi straight from the airport itself - there are various stalls there itself for prepaid taxis ( am not sure of their charging / services ). I know a taxi person - if you need his no, you can PM me. For the bus, you'll have to do incity travelling in Ahmedabad itself as the Bus stands are quite a distance from the airport,leading to a waste of time.

Do let me know if any additional details are required...

BTW - any specific reason for heading straight to Baroda or to put the other way around - why the aversion to Ahmedabad...??

Barodian, i appreciate your reply, i would prefer taxi so we can be picked straight from Ahmedabad airport. I have never been to ahmedabad before, will it be possible if i pre arrange or do i just turn up at airport and book one.

If i just want one way taxi from Ahmedabad airport to Baroda town, can i book it from airport itself, that will be better for me.may be very expensive than normal. if u can find out i will appreciate it, or if you know any websites for info.Also let me know if its easy to take luxury coach and times and where from. The main reason i am going straight to Baroda and giving Ahmedabad a miss is i have to be at Baroda first, may be after 2 weeks will visit Ahmedabad.

Prepaid taxi from Ahmedabad to Anand was 1500Rs. (February 2007).

Taxi charges - Indica ( small cab ) are Rs.4.50 to 6.50 per Km. Larger cars - Innova / Tavera are Rs. 7.5 onwards. PLUS applicable taxes ( toll tax etc )

Minimum travel in the smaller cars is 250 kms which should cover your travel to Baroda.

You can get the luxury coaches from Paldi / Satellite areas that shall take you to Baroda. If you want to go the rustic ways the state transport buses are also there ( they're quite good that ways) and are quite frequent. Methinks, you can get one atleast every half an hour.

We will try to hire taxi straight from airport because we will have two large suitcases, hope we will be o.k.and get taxi from airport.Do you think it will be hard to hire taxi from ahmedabad airport to baroda then let me know. will it be same charges as you list. thanks

It should be the same. 6.5 for an Indica is anyways a atrocious charge to pay.

standard fare is 4.5 for Non AC and 5.5 for AC.
