About those heading to diu now...
The best tip i can give you now is to avoid Diu from the 1st of november to the 10 november. its busy with the diwali festival tourist influx and hotels full and room tariff at the TOP, and no chance of any discounts. After the 10 th november i guess that Diu reverts to what it usually is..a quiet and laid back and peacefull island. if you really have to be here than its not that bad provided you are willing to shell out that much extra. a fairly decent hotel would be around Rs.1200 plus.
