A timeless example ...
Here is a flashback in time - a fine example of how ancient communities developed means to overcome distances.
"For the salt pan workers of Little Rann of Kutch, or agariyas, the most popular medium of communication is a mirror! Much like aboriginals used fire to send smoke signals. And, Little Rann is only 100 km from mega city Ahmedabad. " "..school bells in the Rann are also broken mirror pieces which teachers flash towards faraway huts making kids come running to school. "If there's an emergency, the mirror is flashed faster. Before any meeting it's flashed and within 20 minutes people gather at the spot," I found it amazing that such methods of communiation still exist and are practiced to the benefit of the people who employ them. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/C...ow/4557535.cms Regards |

Thanks for posting that. It was most interesting to hear that even people with mobile phones still use this method, which of course has the advantage of being completely free of charge.
