3 nights in Gujarat - decision on itinerary
Hello. I am planning 3 nights to visit Gujarat at the beginning of December. Having a tough time deciding on how to best spend my limited time there. I am interested in seeing places that are unique to Gujarat. I have two proposed itineraries - will be flying from Mumbai. I think my first itinerary is too aggressive - would like some opinions. If I have to, I will drop Palitana off of the list of "must-dos". The second option does allow more time in both Little Rann and Ahmedabad versus being so rushed. Is there anything else driving distance from AMD that is recommended?
Option 1 Day 1: Fly into Bhavnagar in afternoon, Drive to Palitana stay overnight. Day 2: visit temples early AM, drive to Ahmedabad in PM Day 3: day trip to Little Rann sanctuary Day 4: visit Gandhi Ashram, city tour, fly out late PM Option 2 Day 1: Fly into AMD PM drive to Little Rann Day 2: wildlife and village tours Day 3: drive back to AMD AM; city tour Day 4: Gandhi Ashram, fly out late PM Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! |

If you go to Little Rann of Kutch, you should definitely go to see the Sun Temple At Modhera...around 30 odd km from Zainabad/Dasada where the camps are.
The ancient temple architecture is outstanding. You can probably do a wildlife safari in the morning, go to Modhera and then to Ahmedabad (it is a bit of a north-south detour but worth it. |

decision made!
Thank you for you comments. I have decided to not rush the visit to Little Rann and will stay overnight with Desert Coursers. I figure I will return someday to have a more thorough visit of Gujarat including Palitana and Sasan Gir.
