yab yum yoga centre

Hello,

wondered if anyone had heard of or visited a yoga centre/ ashram at ashvem beach,north goa,i was told about it by a fellow traveller back in feb 06,but never managed to find it whilst i was there,apparantly its set in a banana and coconut grove,right next to the beach,if anyone has any details,or has been there,it would be great to hear from you...

How familiar are you with the meaning of yab yum? Literally, it is as innocent as can be (Tibetan for 'father, mother'). In art, the expression refers to a certain kind of bronze sculptures, so one wonders what is practiced at a place using that name.

Yes i am familiar with the meaning of YabYum,it means Chenrezig, the lord of compassion,who is within the yabyum embrace,this embrace has nothing to do with ordinary sense gratification.The embrace symbolizes the union as you say,of the father and the mother.The embrace,or pairing of attributes are as follows,bliss and emptiness,the vajra and the bell,right and left ,the attainment of the form body,and of the truth body ,and fulfilling the purpose of others while fulfilling the purpose of oneself ,the priceless treasure of highest yoga tantra and the quickest and most powerful means of achieving enlightenment within this very lifetime.I expect that whoever named a Yoga resort/retreat Yabyum had this in mind,and not what you were wondering.
