Where to stay in Ratnagiri (or close)

Hello again,
Following some great advice from this forum about catching the train to Kerala I think we've decided to stop off at Ratnagiri for a day or two. Has anyone else done this and can you recommend somewhere to stay not too far from the train station.

Ganpatipule is the nearest beach to Ratnagiri about 40 km's away, there are a few hotels in the area, here's a link to a few of them!!

hello,

staying in ratnagiri, well there are quite a few budget hotels near the station.
but only basic amenities there.
if you have time to spare, it would be better to go down to the beach hotels at ganpatipule as "cyberhippie" has suggested.
thats a good bargain.

there are relular bus services from ganpatipule to ratnagiri station
(thay drop you off the station on the main road).

happy traveling and have a good stay.
