Where's hot this year?
First time on the board and I'm off to Goa in April for the 6th time. Anyone been this season that can report on where are the places to go this year? Is it the usual of Mambos, Cubana, Paradiso, nine Bar, or is there anywhere new?

If u do not mind a little of travel....100 kms south of Goa...there is
1. Karwar - beach where the Western Ghats meets the sea. Stay in Devbagh beach resort. 2. Dandeli - U can do white river rafting here. YOu can stay at Dandeli wilderness camp and do rafting. 3. Anashi national park. You can stay at the Bison lodge. You can go on safari and see tigers and lots of other animals in the wild. 4. Further south is Gokarna...it is in between 2 mountains in the beach and is beautiful. Since u r saying that u have been to Goa several times before, you can explore these places. Jungle Lodges Resorts have great properties in karwar, Dandeli and Anashi for stay..they are package trips...check www.junglelodges.com U can check my travelogue on Karwar... http://www.indiamike.com/india/article.php?a=31 |

i have two off-the-beaten-track recomendations. Banana republic in Baga (across from cavala beach resort) has good jazz on wednesdays (at cavala itself which is a sister hotel) and an old-fashioned 3-man pop/rock band on fridays. second, the disco in marriot in Panjim is great on sat night. very indian/bombay crowd, and a good 4-person band doing 70's/80s/disco music. quite a trip, particularly if you're not in your twenties....! i just got back a couple days ago and can confirm no new places have come up. heard of a new place called matrix up north but told its avoidable

What time this jazz session starts? Im staying at south, but maybe this would be worth for visit. Any other suggestions for good music in Goa? |
