doubt very much a couple wears a bikini - unless they're a lesbian couple.
but it'd be interesting [to say the least] to see a man in a bikini

whats stopping her from a wearing a bikini at home with you - if you wish to see her in one ??

lots of threads on this - coppol or no coppol - about bikinis in goa.
you gotta search the goa thread.

troll - youthinks ??

sigh. It has always been a dream of mine to wear a bikini on a Goa beach.

Somebody will soon tell me that there is a name for this kind of behaviour.

First of all, I have only been to Goa once (and hated it) so my opinion may be of limited help. Hopefully someone who regularly goes will give something better.

As I am sure you know, plenty of women wear bikinis in Goa. I saw mostly foreigners, but also a few people who if they were not "Indian" Indian were at least NRIs or OCIs. Unlike other parts of India, most people's jaws won't drop to the floor when they see such swimwear. They may not agree with it, but they seem to have accepted that foreigners wear things like that.

However, this does not mean your wife will want to do it. A certain number of Indian men like to take trips to the beaches of Goa just to oggle the scantily clad women. Of course, a lot of people hold the belief that foreigners have loose morals (a frustrating way of thinking), and that is why they behave the way they do. Being Indian, you may think you will escape that mindset. However, actually I think you may meet some disapproval that an Indian woman (who is not in a Bollywood film!) is dressing that way. A foreign woman might meet with nudges and winks, but some people may even get rather angry that an Indian would do the same. Or if they don't get angry, they may still decide she is of poor character, easy, etc. and treat her accordingly. With you there you may be ok, but I wouldn't want to place bets.

Overall, I think it is up to you. Personally, I would suggest to her she packs a more modest swimsuit plus sarong for the beach, so she can be a little free and have a nice swim but without being too bare, and keep the bikini for the hotel pool (if there is one), where it will be more private. This is because I feel that it will be nicer for her not to have guys learing and judging her when you are trying to have a nice romantic time. It's your honeymoon, you don't want all the other guys to be trying to hit on her!

Not recommended on the beach, you can wear it at the hotel you are staying at which has a pool. Most of the crowd on the beach is to ogle. We Indians cannot control the alcohol and therefore it can become a little bit rowdy.
The foreigners can walk in bikinis and they have no fear as such as the locals (goans) will be there in droves to help a foreigner if at the time arrives, as for them foreigners is big business...(really stupid of them as Indians actually give them more business)

Not a direct reply to the query but Goans are equally helpful to Indian tourists as they are to foreigners. Sometimes there is some sort of partiality with respect to treating of Foreigners & Indians but those are rarity rather then the norm.

<off-topic> While nycank already beat me to posting the exact term for the garment, the movie borat would provide you with this pleasure.

OR you could wait a few days, and apparently watch Wayne Rooney wear it! See this.

Capt_mahajan, I think a clingy white sari (sans blouse too!) may be an even worse suggestion for the OP's wife

I don't believe skin color matters as to the design/cut limitations of one's swimwear. Go with the flow & within your comfort zone & never waste time living up to others expectations.
