We plan to visit Goa in October. This will be our first trip to Goa from Mumbai. We cannot book hotel or air at the moment as we are primarily visitng Mumbai for doc appmnts.
1. Can I book last moment, since this is not peak season I thought we should be fine. 2. We are looking to relax and visit a few places, which hotels would you suggest to stay? 3. Good local restaurants? 4. WHat is the cost we are looking at? TIA |

1) Yes you can book after arriving in Goa.
2) You did not mention what your daily budget is and because of that it is impossible to recommend any particular hotel. You can get a room in Goa from $1/day to $1000/day. 3) There are many good restaurants but again it depends on how much you want to spend. You can have a good meal for $5 as well as for $100. 4) For two people, you will have to spend about $60/day for a decent room and food with alcohol. |

Greetings,
You mentioned that you're going to Mumbai for medical reasons. Is this by any chance a surgery? The reason I ask is that I need some surgery, and have looked into the idea of a surgical vaction. It doesn't look like I would save much money, though. Do you have any pointers for a fellow bay area dweller. In regards to your question, you'll have no problem finding a place to stay in Goa in October. There are so many guest houses, and you are arriving before things get really "rolling". enjoy |

It's hard to reccommend good local restaurant's and such when we don't know which part of Goa your staying in, and your budget.
And as mentioned, you won't need reservations in October. |

Hmmm, i think to short booking is not a good idea!
I had problems this year when i was looking for an apartment 4 weeks bevore arrivale! I tried to book in August the same Apartment for next year february... but its full!!! So, maybe it would be easier if you have already booked your apartment. Greets, Michael |
