Visiting Goa after a long time so need some help with planning

Hi Guys,

I am going to be visiting Goa after a long long time and would want to visit it very regularly going forward.....

I will be down in Goa for 3 days on 1,2 3 Feb.

I needed some help from the experts and locals ..... I have read up a lot of the threads and there are a lot of suggestions which i would love to follow but it is just confusing me and I wanted to make a crisp plan to follow in those 3 days

i need suggestion for hotels charging max 1000- 1200 a day for a double room ...

and which 2-3 clubs you would definitely recommend i visit .

any off beat recommendation would also be very appreciated like a good shack you know run by someone making excellent grilled mackerel fish (one of my top most reason to visit goa is food from beach shacks ... mmmm )

thanks for your help
God Bless

John

Burf might be on here later, he will answer some of your questions as he has just come back from a 3-4 days stay in Goa.
I dont eat fish so i cant help you there.
I dont stay in hotels ,so cant help you there.
Not sure what clubs are open now,so cant help you there either.

Nice answer, but you forgot to mention there are miles of beach where to sleep, a barbie place to find anywhere and the guitar for the private party is allways allowed. Only, I don´t think the info will help out john. Albeit, he might have meant the good, good, good old times. We should await his reply, my guess.

I find if you make plans on where you are going to go when you get to Goa,they never work out. Its so laid back there, that i just go with the flow.

hey patti thanks for recommending me

john

i had recommended it many times and to many and i would recommend cavala again, they might have a room for the price that you are looking - you just have to call them up to find out - cavala.com/contact.html

tito's is popular and plays good enough music but i liked 9 bar at anjuna better, but the only problem with 9 bar is that is closes down at 10. i didn't even bother trying to enter Mambos, another very popular one

i don't eat fish but friends who do, loved the pomfret at blue moon shack [it is 3rd or 4th last shack on the right end of the baga beach if you stand facing the sea]. there is a guy named John from Kerala at blue moon shack, he isn't their employee but liaise for them - he can be a great local guide for you about the local beach(s) and shacks

@Patti ... thanks for the reply... a few trips and I want to be as carefree as you are in Goa.... I know Goa should not be planned on paper.... but since i am doing it after a real long time with just 3 days in hand... needed something to fall back on incase my wandering doesn't go as plan.....

@burf... thanks a lot.... your reply has been very helpful.... will surely heed your reply ..... ooohhhh... i cant concentrate at work anymore..... longing to get to Goa.....

@all.... will let you know how my planned trip goes....

clubs closing at 10 sounds so dumb.... do you know if the 5* have the bars and disco open till late.....

Okay... i found this resort on a website called lastminute.com which is a very good site for boking hotels in europe but i am not too sure about their expertise in goa .... does anyone know if this place is actually good enough to be a 3* ..... seems like a nice location to me as well and is charging 2000 for a double per night ... more than i would have wanted to pay ..... but i will go with your expertise on this

Ticolo Is a nice place to stay, but you be better off going in person to ask for a room than phoning. You get a cheaper rate in person.
Goa is so quiet, there must be lots of places to rent. Its just finding them, thats the problem.
