Villagers opposed to Ingo's night bazaar

Strong objections were raised by the villagers of Assagao to Ingo’s Saturday Night Bazaar proposed to be moved to the Assagao hill at the gram sabha meeting held at the village panchayat hall today morning. Several gram sabha members also demanded that a gram sabha resolution be passed to deny permission to the bazaar.

But the Assagao sarpanch, Mr Victor D’Souza, refused the demand stating that the issue was not on today’s agenda. He assured that the panchayat has kept the application in abeyance and would not grant licence until the matter was discussed at another gram sabha meeting.
