There are not too many good vegetarian restaurants in Goa. Navtara in Panjim is one option and in Calangute you have one or two which are so-so. The problem is that the vegetarian restaurants in the coastal belt prepare their food with a Caucasian clientele in mind. This means you get fairly bland food without much spices and masala.

There is an Udipi restaurant serving veggie south indian food at the calangute-baga fork. Rice, sambar (South Indian curry). Beer too.

Mangalore Restaurant on the N17 near Palolem does excellent north Indian veggie food.
I agree much of the veggie food in the shacks lining the beaches is very bland with a one masala fits all theme!! |
