travelling to goa feb 2008 need advice please
me and my partner are going to goa in feb for 1 month 2008 weve been here before on a package deal but this time we want to arrange it ourselves as its so cheap out there we have flights and accomadation to sort out
what we want is south goa maybe mobor cavalosim upto benaulim maybe self catering or bed and breakfast we would rather go in a complex for security reasons although we dont want a large complex or a guest house ..we were thinking of gaffinos ..any other ideas? all help will be greatly appreciated as were a little dubious about doing this the first time with out the travel agent |

Hi Nuttynurse....welcome to IM.
You sound just like my sister. Won't go anywhere without her travel agent. Finally convinced her to go out on a limb. So hence, we too are doing it alone. No problems so far. You just need plenty of time to do the research. I've had no hassles to date booking hotels etc. The only problem was penciling things in like Taj on Friday (hello, Taj is closed on Friday). So make sure things are open on that day. Were not heading to Goa but you'll find all sorts of info here. There's a search button on the side there & will become your new best friend. Also have a look at the hotel listings they are really helpful. I love saying to my sister..... "Do you wanna goa to goa" !!! |

You did not mention what your budget is, so I am assuming you are not looking for anything too posh. In Cavelossim you can try http://www.saodomingosgoa.com/
In Benaulim you may want to check out http://www.palmgrovegoa.com/index.htm |

Goa Room Tarifs
I don't know if this is any cheap but I do know it is lot more cheaper than UK
This small hotel i usually recommend. It's in Panjim near Miramar Beach, very close to Hotel Marriott. Close to main Road city bus to Bustand Rs.5 from ther one can go to Calangute/Baga about 12 kms They room only charge around 12pounds (Rs.850-1110) per night per two people a/c room. 3/4 bedded rooms/ Suite almost the same charge but no restaurant. there is a small local pub just infront of the hotel non-a/c about 10 pounds long stay may get discount. 5 star hotel cidade de Goa charges Rs.13,000 peak and Rs, 9000 off peak (that's 106-152 pounds per night same as UK?) Goa offpeak starts from Jan.15 any cheaper elsewhere in goa please advise. There might be other small hotels offering cheaper rate. |
