Travel to Goa?

We are flying out to Goa on the 11 February first time there, my question is will we need it at this time of year, we will be staying until 11 March 2008.

We would also like to learn Indian cooking, visit spice farms and boating. Anyone has good suggestions?

Recommendations for restaurants, pubs, clubs, shopping, all appreciated!! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks guys
Janet Smith

Goa is a big place (maybe 90-100kms north-south) with many many beach resorts, you'll need to tell people what part of Goa you'll be staying in to get useful info.

Go there, stay there and get happy. Goa is easy going far away from India, which means youīll be accustomed to itīs life and rules within days and therefore donīt have to crack your brain. Get into touch with locals, talk with them, maybe make friends with one or the other. Goa is sure commercial and customized, yet still you can find the legend behind it all.

Have fun.

Hello Janet,
have you already reserved your rooms in Panaji? there are lot of good places to stay depending on the budget you have!
as for reccomendations-
Restaurants-
RioRico at the Mandovi Hotel-superb Goan flavours
Quaterdeck on the river front opposite the Mandovi Hotel-great seafood!
Delhi Durbar-authentic North Indian fare
GoenChin-Indo-Chinese
Cafe Real,Cafe Tato & Cafe Bhonsle- great local vegetarian food, cheap, affordable and very tasty
Pubs-
the bar at the Mandovi is very cozy and has a wide variety of drinks
Shopping- 18th June Road,Dr.A.B.Road,near the municipal garden most popular/tourist shopping is around these areas.
hope this was of some help!
