Mid Jan is an ideal idea. I do Goa every year since 1997. I've done almost every beach on the coastline. But, long since gave up NY eve in goa. Its crazy. But here's what I do....I do it early december. Things are just starting to buzz but not real madness like immediately after christmas. I've also done mid Jan twice and I'd recommend it if you want to beat the madness. The costs, the crowd, the whole euphoria would have simmered down a bit. Go for it!!!!!

If you want a bit more space and are staying North Goa get a taxi up to Morjim or Asvem for the day. Or if down south go to Agonda.

There is no beach like that (only approachable by boat) anywhere in North Goa. The quietest of all beaches that I've ever come across (probably even on the 31st december) is querim (also spelt kerim beach) which is the northen most tip of Goa just before Maharashtra. This beach has no habitation. However, its dangerous to swim or get into water here because its bloody steep. Thats why no people around.
But, a beach that can only be approached by boat doesnt exist in North-goa. |
