Tivim to Panaji

Hi

Could someone please tell me if there is a bus service from Tivim railway station to Panaji or even Mapusa? What is the best way to reach Panaji from Tivim? Also what would be the cheapest way. (Some luggage is being carried). Thanks in advance

Hi INdic,

Looking at your concern for luggage, I suggest avoid public transport and go for Taxi. Should cost you 400 odd Rupees for the Taxi from Panaji to Thivim. Mapusa to Thivim is cheaper 200-250 odd Rs. Check out the taxi stand out side the station or near the hotel. Govt Taxis are regulated by the Goa Taxi governing body and charge fairly.

The best is you should ask some local driver in the neigbourhood (ask the hotel attendant) to get you one. They charge you less than a Govt taxi.

Cheers
Hymz

Thanks Hymz,
that was useful. But just to make it more clear

the luggage I am carrying is light, but not as light as to walk it with for kilometers, hence I thought I'd mention it but if luggage is no concern is there any public trasport available from the railway station

Come to the main road from the Thivim station and you can get a bus for Mapusa. Average luggage is not a problem, bus guys are used to it. From Thivim you can get another one for Panaji. the total cost in bus would not be more than Rs.25..
