You must bargain with the sellers otherwise you might end up paying more than in London. All market sellers are the same price. When you stop to look or ask how much, they'll try & sell it for as much as possible,,,,,,,,,,, The rest is up to you,,,,,,,,, Happy Shopping |

I found that a lot of the goods at Anjuna market (cushion covers, duvet covers etc) were grubby as a result of being dragged in the dust from one market to another, and handled by a hundred tourists. This kind of thing is better bought in town, Mapusa, Margao etc.

bargainig is a must in goa.for flea market, things would be cheaper and easier to bargain at the evening closing time of the market.once nearly to a closing time to of an flea market i bargain for a 4000 rs pricing blanket and i bought it for 500 rs ,and i knew that it can be cheaper.
if you interested in semi precious and precious stones you will have too many options.but dont believe the sayings of the sellers that you can sell the stone in your country more then double price that you bought form them. |

Just found this thread. I must add this one
I was in Margao fruit and veg market with some friends who'd just bought some supplies and was having a look around. Just about to leave and saw a green cucumberish veg. I asked the elderly woman "What is it?" She said "Six" I said "No, I mean what is it? She said "Six". I had a think and asked "I mean what vegetable is it?" She said "Four" A young lad moved closer and told us it was gourd. I felt a bit guilty as I'd just got a good discount and wasn't even buying. ![]()
