It's a partially accurate report.

OK, Goa isn't an Island.

The Goan authorities are training 100 lifeguards (about 40 are female) to patrol the beaches of Goa.

These lifeguards will hopefully go a long way to preventing the dozens of drowning that occur each monsoon season to (normally) Indians taking a break in Goa.

---------------------

Regarding these 100 lifeguards........

Will the quota system be used for hiring?

We need to see that the Scheduled castes are fairly represented and what about the visually impaired?

Indian woman can do anything in a sari.

But perhaps the ones who live on "islands" are not so in touch!

LMAO! It'd be a shame if their bindi came off while rescuing someone in the surf. Living in Sydney, I go to the beach quite often, so when I'm in Goa, I'd probably end up saving the life of one the the lifesavers.

We'll have to refuse their assistance on the grounds of equality.

This guy should be one of the lifesavers.

I remember during the Olympics during the heats, he was struggling to keep his head above the water.

As a side issue they could always start a wet sari contest ,it could bring in extra revenue witch could help finance the lifeguards !
