Hi. Actually I wasn`t in goa, and can`t say about best place there, but I think you can easily find skilled tattoo-maker (I`ve find one in MacleodGanj, he was my room neighbour :-)) . Talk to people and you`ll find it for sure. But! As always be aware about hygienic side of tattoo. Is tattoo painful? I can`t say really. I haven`t feel too much pain. All is about your skin and body properties :-)) Good luck!

Be aware - aids, hepatitis ect can be transmitted if the tattoo artist is not working under very strict guidelines (same standard as dentists, surgeons, etc anything that involves an instrument, skin and blood.)

hi i got a tatoo whilst in goa as a reminder of a great time. The place i went to was at the San Fransisco bar in Anjuna , i forget the name (perhaps mike's tatoos?) . It was very clean and all equipment was sterile,i checked for an autoclave and was shown around. The guy is english and has 30 years exp. I got a small celtic sun on the base of my back for about £30.Many places offer cheap tattoos but i wouldn't recomend these places for all the obvious reasons!

oh yeah,on the pain front i'd advise getting a reasonably small one.It sort of feels like the outline is being scratched out with a stanley knife but the shading doesn't hurt atall.i'm a bit of a wuss tho!
