Calangute is not a good place anymore. If you want to stay around this place go to Baga a small distance away from Calagute. Plenty of accomodation & night spots. There is a river that meets the sea here. I had stayed at a hotel called Bia de Sol. The spelling may be incorrect & I am sure some one will post the right spelling.
Good luck.

Hey ,

I stayed at Baia Do Sol this June, and had a great time though it was raining constantly!!!
Agree that Calaungute is no longer a great place to be... quite crowded and filthy. If you are willing to stay a but further away from the beach, then you can try 'Fanstasy Resorts' and 'Hotel Hacienda' at Baga... nice places to stay

I am just back from Baga, stayed at Ronil's Resort. Costed around 1350 for double occupancy, AC rooms, including breakfast. Barely 100 mtrs from the beach and tito's.

Nice place, definately worth a look.

Cheers...Marmik
