Varca is in South goa, so Palolem beach is not to far away.. definetely spend at least a day there. You'll have to take a ferry from CAvelossim or Mobor across to Betul, then join the main highway to Palolem.
Not too far away from Varca is Margao; visit there to check out the old latin quarter of town and also the church of the holy spirit. A bit further north is the seminary at Rachol, and also some nice colonial houses in Lutolim. Further North is Panjim and Old Goa - definetely worth a visit. the latter for its magnificient churches. Keep at least a day free for them. Markets - you got three choices here; the night market (weekly, saturday) near Baga beach, or, the flea market (weekly, wednesday) at Anjuna beach, or, the Friday weekly market at Mapusa. Have a good trip. nevilleb |
