Hi,

I will be in Goa during the month of March. Not sure which beach area yet (TBA) I heard somewhere that there is skydiving available somewhere in Anjuna and I was hoping someone had a link/info about this or other places I might do this/ how much it will cost.

Obviously tried googling but with few results... Help me IndiaMike!

Anywhere in Goa is fine. Thanks.

Do you mean "real skydiving"? As in freefall, then opening your own chute? In Goa? Where nothing works properly for very long?

Surely not?

On a more serious note, no, such an activity does not exist in Anjuna or anywhere else in Goa...........thank God!

No skydiving in Goa. In fact Skydiving is not offered anywhere in India except at one place in Madhya Pradesh (Place is Sagar ?) that also is not regular I guess.

It could be Paragliding or Microlight flying check out here

Noticed on the thread you linked to, a lot of people refer to doing this at a place called Solong...............how appropriate

Upon further inspection it seems that the article I saw that claimed there was 'sky diving' seems to have actually been referring to a different thing entirely. It meant there are boats that will hook you to a parachute and pull you around in the air. Thanks India mike!

Its kind of water sky lifting they tie you up with a parachute connected with a motor boat and would take u up for 5 - 10 mins and bring you down, so far there is no sky diving in goa.
Cheers.

Para-sailing is the word.
Also used to be available, a couple of years back, at Hyderabad at around 25% of the Goa prices.

parasailing is there is a lot of places in India, not just boats they also use jeeps on land.
am pretty sure skydiving is not offered anywhere in India, there was one in pune long back, i tried calling them and they had the same answer for 5 years.. "Aircraft has gone to Australia for servicing". eventually gave up...

and the one they do in solang is para-gliding

Read in Lonely Planet India Magazine... There is an aviation academy in Madhya Pradesh (not in Goa) offering skydiving and some sort of aircraft flying experience with some simulator training and co-piloting of a twin seater (apparently they do allow you to control the craft mid flight for sometime ...) I remember the prices being quoted 35,000INR, though not exactly sure...

Googling throws up a facebook link (blocked for me at work ...) of Chimes Aviation Academy in Dhana, Madhya Pradesh... I think its the one that I read about.

Hello MissBees,
I met a couple recently in goa, they were from turkey, and they are planning to open the skydiving in goa soon coming season. The guy who is going to start is a professional skydiver and also an ex airbourne.

That's great news. Do update on this thread whenever they start offering skydiving or you have some more information. Thanks.
