Half-pipe dreams come true in Goa
By Debbie Leigh HALF-pipe dreams came true when a skateboarding expert from Wakefield organised India's first ever boarding contest. It was dubbed the Rumble in the Jungle – but this time competitors did battle with their feet, not their fists, in a concrete skatepark built in a back garden in Goa. Nic Powley has been skateboarding for 20 years and is a judge for the UK Skateboard Association. http://www.leedstoday.net/ViewArticl...5&SectionID=39 |

www.sk8goa.com
Though about a week ago some guy here was really putting down the place. He was saying the owner was a crook and a-hole. He's under the thread of asking about a skate park in Pondicherry. |

Believe the truth from an honest skateboarder.. I've been involved in the skateboard industry for 10 years and skateboarding since 1985. I have established contacts with skateboarders around the world who would all refer to me as a trustworthy, and helpful person. Unfortunetly "sk8goa" could be a great place but is owned and operated by a total scumbag.
I've spent enough time and energy at this skatepark in Goa to know this. I'll never go back to that place as long as Nick Smith is there.. The owner of that place is a theif and a liar.. Do not trust Nick Smith!! If you stay there he will promise a paradise, and you'll get a bacterial infested rats nest with no running water. I payed rent and worked and spent my own cash on materials for 3 months and all a got from Nick was a big "no thanks".... And believe me I'm not the only person that feels this way.. He's burnt just about every bridge he's crossed. Also.. He constantly steals from his guests as well.. During my several stays there I've heard of things go missing such as money, ipods, wallets, creditcards, skateboards, and skate products, clothes, and he even tries to steal girlfreinds while his own (girlfreind) sits home ignoring his 2 yr old child. He has been known to lie to people to get money and products too.. Don't trust him..Don't support Sk8Goa. |
