Shafted!!

I got a phone call from my travel consultant yesterday (at 6 days notice before we fly) that our hotel, the Mariha Dourada is overbooked and we can either cancel or go to another hotel for the first 2 weeks of our hol. Not having our hol is not an option so we asked our consultant to look for alternative accomodation for the first 2 weeks of our hol. The only other hotel that is available turns out to be the Riverside hotel. We have heard bad things about this place but have decided to go anyway.

To start with I have sent the Marinha a very snotty e-mail. I also know one of the owners and will be bending his ear quite a bit.

Does anyone have any info about the Riverside hotel? The only things I know are the location and they have recently built a new bar and restaraunt.

Crikey, where did you dig this old thread up from We got on fine at the Riverside, we ended up in a new building on the other side of the river from the main part of the hotel. I bent the managements collective ears at the Marinha and we used the facilities there most of the time, they even sent taxies to pick us up and take us back! The Riverside is ok but we prefer the Marinha because of the location and facilities.
