Shack on Baga beach.

I wont mention what one it is but it must be on private land to be opened before the licenses come out.
I have a friend who lives in Goa on a 5 year visa.He went down the beach today with his female friend and the owner said if he doesnt spend 500rs each, that day in that shack he cant use the sun beds or umbrella .
I can see myself not bothering with the shacks at all and just finding something to lay on and beg or buy or be given a umbrella .

Consumption for seven brit quid or ten continental euro dollar to use a sunbed and umbrella...? But as sad it might be, I bet the guy will get away with it. Me, I´ll head further north to Vagator or Arambol this season anyway, so don´t bother that much either. Yet, it seems to prove the predicted changes on Baga beach and if so I´m particularly sorry for the senior tourists when this procedure will set a precedent.

On the other hand many of them have their annual home-shack they occupy for hours, days and weeks on their holidays, so they might have no problem with it.

York Stiller maybe they are only getting away with it because they are the only shacks that are on private land open at the moment.
I used to go to Goa and with the heat was never hungry so lost half a stone. All different now i put on half a stone ! i cant stop eating curries, i can eat a curry morning noon and night !

I think this 6 sunbed rule is going to cut the shack owners profits hugely ,so i can see on Baga beach they are going to have to charge for the sunbeds.

All we need now is 10pm no music rule to be there as well !

well as of last week i was on Baga and spent some good 4 hours in the morning on the bed under the umbrella. yes i did order some beer etc.. and later hand lunch there. The net cost for 2 ppl yet was some 450 odd Rs and he waived the rent for the bed and umbrella. Without any orders the cost was Rs 100 only !

amarshah different shack different rules . Looks like the 100rs a day for sunbeds will be in force on Baga beach. I am there for 3-4 months not always on Baga beach and not always in Goa . There are so many other beaches in Goa that dont charge for sunbeds so we have a choice.

Candolium beach is well known for charging and i do the same as you "move on "
But i think this season on Baga beach will be different because of this 6 sun beds and 3 umbrella rule .

Things are very difficult out there at the moment, and the locals loosing so much money, of course then prices will have to go up.

We will have to buy our own sunbeds, saw the police many years ago try to take two deckchairs and umbrella off an 80 year old couple! The police did not win - they were adament it was theirs and they were keeping their chairs. They ended up with a standing ovation, that was by the side of Sam's Paradise.

Are any of those shacks up yet? I know they are not supposed to be BUT ......

My friend went into a shack just by the Calangute steps on the left . Not sure what he called it ,was either Sea Paradise or Sea pearl, he managed to get a sunbed but the owner said Bombay high court has told him his shack has to be knocked down.He didnt charge him for sun bed.I think he is on private land and the owner of the land wants him off.
Been told the licensed shacks should be up on the 15th Nov .

I have a dvd wheres it all about the sun bed / topless police . the foreigners arguing with the police.
I was on a shack last year at night and we had the Wacky Backy policemen !! they were seeing if we were smoking any thing illegal .
