HOLIDAY SECURITY THREAT IN INDIA The U.S. Government wishes to remind American citizens living in and visiting India of the need to maintain vigilance in the new year, particularly in light of ongoing reports in the Indian press regarding possible terrorist threats to Goa, an area popular with tourists, during the busy holiday season. The Indian government has increased its security presence in Goa in response to these reports, given the density of nightclubs and restaurants that attract foreign tourists. American citizens may wish to read the Department of State's current Worldwide Caution for more information on the general threat to American interests overseas.
