Does he want facilities or not? Quite how goa is supposed to develop is something which befuddles me. Either it's supposed ot be remote or with facilities.
Can people make up their minds, please? ![]() Like, if you want it to be remote and all-by-myself beach, you'e not going ot get roads, drinking water et al. If you want some facilities, then the crowds come because there's a proper road, electricity and stuff; then the plastic bottles, plates, syringes, crisp wrappers follow But the writer's yearning is all too apparent, the gamut of ugly buildings, crowds, trance, mafia, the serach, oh the search for Goan Paradise. ya, a fair assessment and indeed, the whole coastal stretch in southern maharashtra, Malvan etc, (after Tiracol/Terekhol) is amazing, unspoiled and beautiful...
As for Goa, there are a couple of really cool off places in the very South of the state that come close to 'the beach'.. Agree very Digital Drifter, all those folks looking for the virgin stretch of sand should understand that it usually can't go together with yummy fruit salad and treats alike.. but: there's a whole lot inbetween.. go and find out ![]() |

goa
i agree 100% , goa is what goa is
if you want fine roads , perfect houses with all mod cons , power 365 days a year etc go some where else . if you want a wonderful mix of great people , sun , quirky living , and so on and so forth , goa in our mind has no rival . perfection it aint , but gods gift it is . colin |

returning to Goa in Jan 2007 for another great two week holiday, we shall stay again at Dona Alcina, which some people think is a dump, but we love it.
As for the power cuts, they are all part of the holiday, everyone has a good laugh, and the staff bring out the candles. Sam, our taxi driver will meet us at the airport, and everything will be wonderful. |
