Russian Ravers and the Mafia Mix-up in Goa

Just come back from a week in Anjuna, all I can speak from is my own personal experience - When I first came to Goa six years ago I did not meet one Russian, now there does seem to be a lot, though this is of course not a bad thing. I spend a lot of time in the French Alps and there are now a lot of Russians holidaying there too.

But there are certain places you go to, particularly the internet cafe kiosk opposite Munches in Anjuna where there is rampant drug taking, dealing going on and the clientele and even the staff are predominantly Russian, but I found them all friendly and certainly accomodating to my friends from England who had gone to Goa for the usual messy stuff.

Again, from my own personal experience I never felt threatened or intimidated, I just wish I could have spoken with them more, for they all seem to pretty much keep to themselves and don't socialise with other Europeans much...

The issue's been kicked around a bit, but what's the point in a who went where and did what slanging match?

Something tells me that, however small the grain of truth in this may be, it's probably going to make the news again in the future. maybe there'll be something more to talk about next time.

But, for now, this has become a dead horse, so
