As far as people at govt not being bums ,i would like to strongly disagree.I am not sure whether we can discuss it in this thread but i have strong reservations on how they have botched up India and in India's fight against terrorism and other related aspects.
You have praised the Indian gov intelligence in other posts aswell,I dont share your view about them.

To all those discrediting the messenger to ridicule the message ... Outlook is not (haha) a rag. It may be biased politically, it may write bad articles, it may even sensationalise... but it does not , to my knowledge, fabricate.

And why do some of us have a problem with some Russians as criminals? I don't see that same problem with less than flattering discussions on IM on Indians, Britishers, Israelis and many others.

Or is it that statements were made and now we are willy nilly justifying them?

I have never praised the intelligence community of India,I just said that they are well-equipped to know and handle any sort of fdi.Obviously they are no comparision to the mi6 and mossad,who are far more efficient,but lets not go there

edit: A rag, as far as i know, is a tabloid. Which conjures up images of titillating and sensationalist news and not much else.

This story happened to me on January 23rd 2006, thus exactly one year ago. Afterwards I asked a local guy who´s a friend of mine since 1995, how a thing like this could have ever taken place in Goa. He answered that there is a slightly change going on in Goa and that things would run out of control in some matters. But he insured me that at no time there would would have been any danger for me. Really soothing.

As to the clubs: Go there and take your share, but better listen and look what´s going on behind the open scenary. If you have only a little curiosity yourself, you´ll see and understand
all the actions going on within one night. The phone calls, the people come and go, obvious conferences in the middle of the party crowd, wild confrontations between Russians late at night; all this action is too explicit for not taken as serious. Beaten up girlies, intimidated boys, cocky bastards and drugs and money unlimited – it has the substance of a classical buyout. But of course, like anyone here in this forum I can´t come up with hard evidence. Blame me. Sorry, I can´t change it.

My conclusion: Help Goa and Goa will help you.

Have you taken the time to read the posts? What york stiller said? He related an incident and your non response to it along with an unrelated nationality(American/German) dig makes no sense.

'dreaded' russians? As lots of people pointed out, in this particular case, they're Russians without the imputation that *all* Russians are into criminal activity. That has been beaten like a already dead horse in this thread.

Seriously, this sounds like a Friday night at the disco here in St Pete. These guys are harmless.
