I'm not sure what you mean here so here's a list!! it's aesy to rent both bicycles and scooters/motorbikes in most places in India just ask around and said articles will magically appear!!
A bicycle cost between 3-5Rp per hour, and around 40-50 per day (24 hours) A scooter will cost between 150- 250Rp per day A Japanese/Indian bike 125 -180cc will cost between 175 -300 per day A Enfield will cos between 200 -400Rps per day. This being India you may better these prices and you may well have people asking for a bit more. If you take the bike long term expect the prices on the lower scale I've mentioned!!! Look around for the best bike versus price, you'll eventually find what you want! Happy Traveling ![]() |

Darwin- dont recall being asked for a licence, but not having one will often create baksheesh opportunities if you are stopped by police ...

darwin what you will need to worry about is being stopped on the highway between panjim and north goa (if you use that road)....also last year while i was in goa.....i got stopped on the panjim bridge for licence and bike registration...i had my licence and photocopies of the registration....that didnt work so i had to pay the cop 100 rupees per bike...if you are taking a bike then try and get the original papers with it...or at least the phone number of the guy you are renting it from...
good luck! |

Motorbike gear and routes
Hi,
Am off to Goa on Sat and intend to do some motorbiking. Can anyone help with the following:- - Are there full face helmets available to hire? - Are there some long jackets (army type) available to buy? - Any recommended day/2day trips? Tanks in advance, Marcis |

I hired a week old Bajaj 180 bike from a guy who worked in the local hotel in Patnem, he also had a new full face helmet with the bike.
The police are keen to stop people on the main roads without a helmet on................weird to see a bike with a family of 4 on it and only the rider/driver wearing the hat!!! I took the bike over the border to Karnataka and spent a couple of days at Gokarna..........a great little place with more than a hint of madness!! |

Hi, thanks for this it sounds good. Is a bajaj an off road bike or just standard and is there only one hotel in Patnem?
Any idea where the best place in Goa is to hire a good Enfield? Marcus |

standard road bike.........ideal, for most Indian/Goan roads.......Enfields are a romantic notion but really are useless pieces of shite unless they're well looked after.............most of them aren't!!!
sea view hotel before the road to patnem beach.........pretty reasonable accommodation and restaurant run by a goan/english couple |
