Renting a scooter in Goa - How much?

Can anyone tell me how much it would be to rent a scooter for a month somewhere in Goa in November?

Haven't decided where In Goa I'll be staying yet except for Baga/Calangute, so any input, ether north or south Goa, would be welcome.

Is it possible to get one for 100 Rupies a day?

If you rent for a month you should get it for 100 a day or maybe less. Depends on where in Goa you stay.

150 a day this sounds about right to me i paid 300 per day for a brand new avenger? bike (the new ones are 220cc) with all the correct paperwork found under the seat.
could have got cheaper with no paperwork and an old knacker you pays your money and takes your chance

it should not cost you more than INR150 per day...i would suggest, try hiring it from Benaulim as it's the cheapest in the state when it comes to accomodation and bike

The local police certainly care, and make good money fining stupid tourists......

By the way, your International Driving permit must show a full motorcycle licence, and yes, the Goa police do know how to check and will still fine you if its not there.

OK, I'll get me one, thanx.

What do you mean with "full" Johnny? My motorcycle licence is for bikes up to 125ccm and 11KW.

In the UK there is provisional licence, up to 125cc and test not passed, then full licence after passing test.

The crunch is whether your issuing authorities for IDP's will stamp it with motorcycle entitlement, if not you MIGHT have a problem

If you have full entitlement you can get an IDP, if not you won't get the box stamped....

They do care, I have been stopped more than once. I have a full license and IDP and carry them.

Johnny Five is correct in saying that the Goa police know what they are looking for. Thats why they stop you, to do the license check then fine you. If you don't have the license you tend to pay up to keep the peace.
