Renting a house in Goa??

I was in India approx. 4 years ago and want to return to Goa. I'm looking to rent a house for approx 2 mos.. If anybody has any info please let me know.Thanks

Houses are to be had all along the coast of Goa.
I personally don't have any specific details but I can advise you of the price
In Goa as elsewhere in India, price is not always indicative of quality, so a place for 6000 per month can sometimes be way better than a place for 16000.
So what can you get for your money well 6000 will find you a place near the beach, but don't expect too much, hot water may not be installed and in worse case scenarios there may even be a water issue, due to unreliable mains water your water tank may not get filled every day, so no shower for a day!! Again this isn't always the case.
16000 will get you an purpose built apparment with pool facilities (not near the beach) or better, but again, you can pay this for a traditional Goan house near the beach with the infrastructure problems of all the villagers.
These prices can be bettered at both ends of the scale but offer a potted insight into what you can expect in Goa.
Turning up at a place and taking it from there is probably the best way to go about this but don't be too keen, word gets around fast and prices get inflated!

I have not yet got my head around the currency conversions so when I ran 6000 rupees through a calculator I nearly had a seizure!

Are you telling me I could rent an acceptable house for a MONTH for only about £70 ??

Wow I'm gonna luurve India; I can tell already!!!

hi can any 1 help i need some phone numbers or web sites to rent a aparment in goa ,baga beach or near there for 28 days over xmas 2004 and new year any help would be helpful thanks steve
