Rental with Internet during Monsoon
My girlfriend and I are looking for a room for the entire month of August and possibly longer. We value things like proximity to the beaches and markets (if they're even open now), a patio, pool, kitchenette but most importantly it must have a reliable internet connection in the room.
Also I tried to check out Cafe Del Mar but can't get through is that still around? I'm well aware we've probably picked the worst time of year to visit Goa but me may not get another chance so we'll make the best of it. Can anyone recommend a hotel or property to stay at, a preferred beach? or even somewhere to chill out and have some drinks with a few other travelers? Thanks in advance! |

the Oceanic has a website,
www.hotel-oceanic.com the owners are a nice couple from the U.K. but they should be back in England during the monsoon. Also it's not very close to the beach, a negative. You would probably have the whole place to yourself. And doubt the pool is open during monsoon. There's definitely better places to be had during the monsoon. You could get an apartment with T.V and kitchen and the whole works for a steal in August. It would be best to just show up and look around. I know Candolim has nice apartments dirt cheap in the monsoon. |

Thanks alot, I still haven't heard back from them. I'm leaning towards the Alor Grande in Candolim right now but I haven't put anything down yet. Is the Candolim/Calangute s good place to ride out the rains?

I'm no expert on that area, especially during the monsoon, but I know that area is pretty built up. There's lot's of places to choose from. If you make reservations by e-mail your forsure going to pay more than if you just show up and bargain and search around. I would go there and see firsthand the places. I do know that at Palolem there's some people that stay through the monsoon. And some restaurant's are open year round. But a place with internet connection in your room and kitchen, etc. I don't know. And Palolem is the most pretty beach in Goa. You might enquire here: www.palolem.com And here's a site with Goa rentals: http://www.goa-properties.com/GoaPro...entResults.asp Good Luck! ![]() |
