recent trip to Goa!

Just returned from a recent trip to Goa.

Stayed at the presa di goa in Naigao (very close to Calangute) cab fare to the location was 650. The hotel itself is charming little place, interesting, with a small pool and a pool side restaruant. However it is a little to the interior though they offer a pick up and drop complimentary to any of the beaches.
The place itself wasnt too crowded and the weather was on the hotter side. Rented a scooter and rode around about 120 kms or so.
Beaches visited Calangute, Baga, Miramar.
Food was ok, not too bad, but some interesting revelations too.
Visited Old Goa, not too bad, wish had spent more time there. quite a peaceful place.
Would recommend that people def get their license to ride in order and rent a scooter. you dont need a car, just a bike and a map.
overall expenses for 2 people on the trip including airfare and everything $450. for 2n 3d.

Would like to know the tariff ?
Renting a scooter is the best option to explore Goa.
What rent you paid ?

Ronak.

the hotel website is at www.presadigoa.com or www.presadegoa.com

the tarriff we got was the off season tarriff for 2750 INR for a junior suite. we shifted to a smaller room which was about 1800 a night. very good, clean rooms, nicely done up heritage style.

the hotel itself was clean, the cuisine they serve is medit/turkish/indian. food is OK. there are certainly better places to go for food.

i rented a scooter which was 250 rent and 50 for the petrol.although i know you can get it for 200 but it was delivered and picked up from the hotel so i didnt mind the 50 extra rupees.

Wow, that hotel looks beautiful on the web site, will have to save up for a special treat there one day. Any ideas on the rules for foreigners driving licenses for renting motor scooter in Goa, tariff for that sounds reasonable, good way to get around - how are the Goan drivers? dil

Bring an International License or pay a "fine" when you're stopped.
Honda Activa should be 100/150 out of season. 200 in season.

You ask how are the Goan drivers. Mental. Crazy. Blind. No Road Sense. But, they are a friendly lot, and they just love to use their horns. Enjoy.
