Resturant/bar WoW 619. This is on Vasco beach. just north of the hamlet of Dando. Salcette district, 4 miles south of Dabolim airport.

I spend at least four days every week there, in ‘high' season I have never seen more than ten or so middle aged souls such as myself there.

Occasionally, a wedding party or similar of the locals arrive, I have never seen anyone inebriated (unless I look into a mirror), no drugs, beggars, pollution.

Mine host is one Batislee Hernandez. (0091) 9370 163052. Ably assisted by John, Paul and Upen.

NB I am middle aged: that is if I live to be 140.

quiet and romantic beach

Palolem is very beautiful and consequently heaving with people in the season. The next beach north is Agonda, lovely and not crowded. Those two are in the far south of Goa.
In the far north of Goa is Arambol.Arambol its self is not that quiet but to the south of Arambol is Ashvem(or Ashwem)in Between the two is reaaaaly Quiet. Likewise, north of Arambol is Querim (also known as Kiri).Querim is super quiet and is located next to where the Pernem river meets the sea,so for a couple of good reasons its dodgy to swim there.
If you want to pm me i can reccomend some accomodation in Arambol south. Happy travels.
Martinez.

Hi wedderboom !!

In Goa if u want to go to a quiet and a peaceful beach...then...u shud try going to Palolem or Baga beach. For that matter most of the beaches which are south of Madgaon are bound to be peaceful because chunk of the tourists try to be around Madgaon, Panjim or Mapusa.

Regards,
Yogesh Gadre

baga beach

baga and calangute beaches are the busiest in goa. both are in north goa and near mapusa which is not on the coast.

I found the Bambolim beach to be quite isolated.

However I am not sure if I want to be secluded and romantic on a beach..

More isolated.. more chances of somone pulling a stunt

Hi, we stayed at Morjim (north Goa) still untouched by tourist. Very quite and romantic, although not much there evenings.

Maybe if you go during the monsoon, otherwise I would say they are the LEAST peaceful places in Goa, especially Baga on friday/saturday nights!

However, from Baga you can drive maybe 20 mins to Vagator which is pretty isolated, and there are shacks you can stay in on the cliff overlooking the beach

Hi there! New member here, but been browsing messages for some time. Great community with so much information.

Visiting Goa for the first time over the new year, staying in Palolem, but been recommended to stay just south, at Patnem Beach. Understand it is about 15 minutes walk to Palolem, but much quieter and less crowded.
BTW - if anyone can recommend something good on the beach at Patnem, would be very greatful. Know prices double then, so around £20 pn?

Thank you.........

Thanks Ananda, that is very helpful. Homeis looks good and just within budget. Have you stayed there yourself recently? Could you tell me approximately how far to Palolem?

It's a bit tricky getting the right accommodation as both my kids plus partners decided I needed chaperoning out there! (I don't - but going with the flow)
So five of us - two who want nightlife, two who don't and me who just wants a quiet life. There may be bloodshed before we get it all sorted out....

Cheers

I haven't been in Patnem in 4 years. When I was last there I stayed 3 months but not at Home. Went to their restaurant though. Great food! It was a great place to stay on the beach with nice grounds. Europeans rent it put everyyear and make a business from it.
I rented a motorcycle when I was there so usually rode to Palolem. I know there's a bus from Patnem to Palolem that only takes a few minutes. I only walked there once or twice as I had a bike so my memory is foggy about the exact time, but I would guess 20-30 minutes to the south end of Palolem. More for the north. But it's not hard or far. And between the two is Colomb. A beautiful bay with a few small houses for rent. When in Colomb eat dinner at Boom Shankar Restaurant for the sunset. They also have a hotel that's a good place to stay.

we stayed in agonda which was very quiet, but we paddled by kayak to a beach just to the north which was almost deserted apart from a couple of beach shacks. it was beautiful and there were only a couple of tourists there.

there are quiet beaches that are not on the tourist maps. you have to find them
