Hello Suginami,
You have to be a little more specific! Mountains, desert, jungle beaches, village, town, city, ashram, pubs, people and cost...........If you could narrow it down a bit, then there are many people on this site that could offer you endless tips and advice.

If you are interested in being near a beach, Goa is still hard to beat despite a few negatives. From north to south is almost all beach and there is a good variety of places to choose from, depending upon how quiet or how lively a spot you are interested in. For longer stays, many people rent rather basic houses and set them up inexpensively with locally available matrasses and cooking gear, hammocks etc. If you are on your own, a small quiet guest-house might be best. You can count on perfect weather from nov thru' feb. The quietest, most serene places tend to be the smaller places in the extreme north and south of the state, slightly away from the well-known, popular, and increasingly overcrowded villages like Arambol (north) and Palolem (south).

The lack of inexpensive infrastructure in the quieter coastal places is a bit of a problem further south in Karnataka and Kerala (particularly if you are on your own), and apart from the popular spots like Varkala and Kovallam, village beaches outside of Goa tend to be used as public latrines and lack the pigs to keep them feces-free.

...and welcome to indiamike!
