NH17 runs from north to south in Goa, so maybe you can get it somewhere by Pune.

another option follow Pune - Bangalore 4 lane highway till Belagaum & take right turn from Belgaum - Goa is hardly 70-80 Km from there.

pune to goa
for going to goa from pune you take NH-4 from pune via katraj-kolhapur go upto nipani just after nipani town take a right turn(no need to go till belgaum) and go via Ajra-amboli till sawantwadi(NH-17) from sawantwadi you will pass through goa border-mapusa-panji(distance about 450 KM).check map for more details.

Thanks rp. Just one clarification. When im going on NH 4, i assume nippani sigboards will appear on the left, so di i turn left into nippani and then take a right for ajra? or do i continue straight on the NH 4 nippani bypass and then after some time take a right from the NH for ajra? Are there signboards for Ajra to help me take the correct right?
Thanks much! |

hi...
you dont have to take nippani bypass...drive past nipaani town on NH4 and then road curves to right and you will come across a small climb where on the left side you will find a toilet with 2-3 hotels and just opposite these hotels you have to take right(there is a gap in the median)turn for the state highway towards ajra. I went on this road in 2007 March and that time there was no clear sign board for diversion to this state highway on NH-4 but there was a small miletone in kannada at the beginning of SH. these 2-3 hotels on small climb and curve are very prominent landmark to identify your exit from NH-4 towards ajra. Incase of doubt you stop and ask these hotel people they will tell you. |
