Please help with our itinerary - Goa with kids!

Hi,

We are going to Goa for three weeks in Feb, with two boys aged 8 and 9.
We planned to have the first week by a beach with a few day trips, then go to Hampi for about three days, then come back to another beach.
Our flight arrives about 5.30pm, and we do not want to have to go too far on that first night. Maybe Benaulim for a couple of nights before going down to Patnem or Agonda?
How easy will it be to find accomodation when we are there, in Feb?
I have tried contacting a few places but either got no reply or they were booked. Apart from Sevas, Hotel Oceanic, both in Patnem. Any views on these? The reviews I have read seem mixed.

Also, any suggestions for somewhere to stay in Margao? We thought we would stay there the night before our early morning train to Hampi.

Finally, any thoughts about staying the first night near the airport, and then being more rested to enjoy the taxi drive down to Patnem.

Any help would be really gratefully appreciated.

Hi Catlin,
You really should think about heading straight to Benaulim (or Colva) from the airport. They are only 30-40 minutes away and would be much more comfortable (and peaceful!). I can gladly advise you on places to stay in Colva but am not too good on Benaulim.
As for staying in Margao, You would be better off staying at your hotel (if in Benaulim or Colva) and getting a taxi, as it's only 15mins away.

Accomodation in february shouldn't be a problem.

Look into Bhakti Kutir also, in Patnem, Colomb bay, actually.They also have a school for kids your children´s age...they might be interested!
