Lightbulb Plastic bottle recycling in Goa

I've noticed PET bottle recycling depots in both Palolem and Colva, so if anyone staying there wants to 'do the right thing', here's where they are:

Palolem: Look for a wire cage near the right side at the end of the road to the beach (where all the guys offer you taxis and motorbikes). They moved it back a bit when I was there, so you may have to look around to find it as it wasn't so obvious.

Colva: It's a large fenced area to the right of the bus parking area by the beach.

Probably others in other areas as well.

EDIT: whoops, I twice referred to Anjuna when I meant Palolem. Corrected.

We were discussing the plastic bottle problem ( I guess it can't be avoided) last time I was there and we came to the decision that the best way to clean the place up would be to start with a three rupee levy on every bottle, one rupee of that would go towards the setting up & administrating a scheme were kids or anyone could collect plastic bottles take them to a central depot & receive one rupee for each one, then the third rupee could be used for generally improving the environment.
I'm sure we'd all be prepared & could afford a few extra rupees if it would get rid of this eyesore,,,,,,,,,

I noticed in Colva a couple of days back that someone had gathered up a pile of plastic bottle from along the road into a heap. The next day the bottles were gone (so were presumably recycled) but as for the rest of the paper and wrappers along the road they had just set fire along both sides of the road to burn it off.

*sigh*
