Planning a Trip to Goa (29 Sep - 3 oct)

Hi All

am planning a trip to Goa later this month for a week stay. 29 Sep to 3 Oct.
Not a very good I time think, possibly of showers and stuff.. or is it ??

Going for the 1st time literally (was in 8th when i went with a school trip, it was a very attention and not at all a stand at ease trip, worst thing my camera got stolen,, i knew it was some school mate's mischief...)

Does anybody has an advise for me to plan the itinerary .. The packages offered by Hotels with site seeing and stuff doesn't impress me one bit .. or are they ..

Should I rush straight to Calangute .. North Goa or distribute my holiday with 2 nights at south .. then 2 at north etc

Oh does any body has input on prepaid taxi price(Margao station to Calangute). The rajdhani I am travelling on stops at Margao

I have short listed couple of resorts Ondas do Mar, Baga residency .. Please let me know if anybody has gone their.. or an experience...

Look forward to inputs...

Regards
Dips

End of October should be ok, although last year the monsoon finished very late. The year before it had finished by mid sept.

itinerary, just look at a guide book and do something different each day (with time to relax of course). I wouldn't do the hotel offers as prices are generally on the high side and not sure how much would be open then anyway (it's a bit early). Just a taxi (not the ones outside of the hotel) should take you round and also suggest places to go. Even better get on a local bus and head off whereever it's going! - worst case you can get a taxi back.

Calangute in my opinion is a bit busy/touristy.. but each to their own... South is quieter and you might need to head to palolem to find a few more people and palolem is just nice anyway...

Good thing about calangute is that there are lots of shops/eating places...

There is a price list for taxi's on the Goa Taxi fares thread

GoanCanucks post half way down...

Goa Taxi fares

I don't have any idea about hotels... but hope this helps
