Hi there!
I am flying out to India in May to meet up with my girlfriend who is assisting in migrating a Uk call centre to Bangalore. After spending a few days in Bangalore we are going to fly to Goa on 23rd May for 5 days for a holiday. We are really unsure as to the best area and accommodation for this time of year. The acommodation we are currently thinking of is Phoenix Park Inn Resort in Candolim. Does anyone have any views on this place? Is it well located for an end of May visit? What is the standard of the accommodation?? We have enquired as to a cost fro the resort and have been offered 1200rs per room per day (for the 2 of us). Is this a good deal for this hotel at this time of year? Have we been offerered a seasonal discount or are we paying full tarriff? Also we have been quoted 600rs for our transfer from the airport. Would this be a good deal or should we just find transport on arrival at goa? Any help would be very much appreciated or any other suggestions for a trip to Goa at this time. I am worried about everything being closed for the monsoon season. Does anyone know if this is the case?? Thank you in advance, Neil |

[quote=neiljo34]Hi there!
>>The acommodation we are currently thinking of is Phoenix Park Inn Resort in Candolim. Does anyone have any views on this place? << I am familiar with this hotel and I can say without any hestitation that it is one of the better hotels in the Candolim area. >> Is it well located for an end of May visit? What is the standard of the accommodation??<< Yes, it is well located and the standard of accomodation is above average. >>We have enquired as to a cost fro the resort and have been offered 1200rs per room per day (for the 2 of us). Is this a good deal for this hotel at this time of year? Have we been offerered a seasonal discount or are we paying full tarriff? << That is a pretty good deal and is indeed a seasonal discount. The full tariff is Rupees2000+. >>Also we have been quoted 600rs for our transfer from the airport. Would this be a good deal or should we just find transport on arrival at goa?<< That is a good price if it is a transfer via taxi. Normally taxis charge Rupees700 for airport transfers. >>I am worried about everything being closed for the monsoon season. Does anyone know if this is the case?? << Everything won't be closed when you arrive. The beach shacks stay open until the first round of rainfall which usually comes around early June. |

Thanks for your reply! Very helpful. The only other thing would be if in your opinion there is a better option than the phoenix but your comments make it sound very promising. We are only committed to our flights but are free to stay anywhere in goa.
Thanks again, Will be in touch if I think of anything else. Cheers Neil |
