Patnem Beach to Cochin

I am currently at Patnem Beach and would like to make it down to Cochin.

Any recommendations on how best to travel to Cochin from here?

Which trains should I use? Where would I transfer? I am a woman travelling alone so unfortunately 2nd class isn't an option for me.

Specific train, times and fares would be very helpful.

Best and comfortable way is to travel by Air\Train.

I think Kingfisher has done daily flight from Goa to Cochin.

You can check for the train information in the site www.irctc.co.in.

You can catch the train from either Madgaon or from Thivim(Mapusa as it normally called in Goa).

Search for the availability in the website given above.

But I fear, whether the seats have already been full as its a busy route.
Anyway check as fast as you can!!

I've got no maps, but I'm sure Patnem beach is close to Palolem, so book the train from Cancona (if not, you need to book from Thivim or Madgaon)

Train 6345 departs Thivim daily at 21:33, Madgaon at 22:50 and Cancona at 23:20, the train gets to Ernakulam Jn (for Cochin) at 14:05

The train has availability (using the Foreign Tourist Quota) in the following classes on those dates.

Friday 3A
Sat 2A & 3A
Sun no availability
Mon 2A & 3A
Tua 2A & 3A

However, you'll need to get a bus to Madgaon and go to the train station to book FTQ tickets, and you need to do this at least 24 hours before the train's departure, you'll need your passport to book the tickets.

I've heard there's a travel agent in Palolem that can book FTQ tickets, but I asked loads when I was there and couldn't find one that could sell them.
